VaporFi Grand Reserve Rainbow Custard
VaporFi is a well-known name in the vaping community. Their reputation for producing high-quality products extends to their line of in-house e-liquids as well. This review is on their black label series “Grand Reserve Rainbow Custard”. Formulated with 30PG/70VG it is perfectly suited for RDAs and sub-ohm vaping.
VaporFi has been in the business of producing vapor products since 2015. From beginner starter kits to heavy-hitting mods, their reputation for catering to a wide-base of customers shows in the variety of their products. Some items are designed with beginners in mind and some are made specifically for mods and sub-ohm coils for more advanced vapers. It is their way of saying that there is something for vapers of every experience level. We have reviewed some of the VaporFi E Liquids here.
My Experience With Rainbow Custard
The description on the bottle says that the flavors are strawberry, tangerine, and crème anglaise in a delightfully smooth concoction. The art on the packaging is very nice and the 60ml bottles come in a black frosted glass with the Grand Reserve label. The design is very eye-catching and I love the child-proof bottle caps.
I am testing this juice on my Dead Rabbit RDA with my Reuleaux 200W set at 50W. I put a few drops on some new cotton wicks and get ready for a taste. I definitely get the flavors of strawberry and tangerine, but not much of the cream. At 50W the flavor is good, and it gets a little more pronounced at 60W (which is my preferred “sweet spot” for most juices).
Since the name of this juce is Rainbow Custard I expected something in the way of a pudding flavor. You can taste the creamy flavor (crème anglaise) at the end of the exhale but it doesn’t taste like custard to me. Some flavors are very hard to replicate and it’s good that this isn’t “custardy” because I had one that tasted very eggy once and that was bad.
Overall, it has a nice flavor that is very smooth and pleasant. The throat hit is good for 6 mg and it produces a good amount of vapor. I might just try it on a couple of different atomizers for consistency, but I think it will be about the same across the board.
On the inhale I get the strawberry flavor, which is really nice. Then on the exhale you get the tangerine and creamy flavor. The flavor of the juice is nice but I can’t help thinking it reminds me of fruit loop cereal. It doesn’t taste like a cereal vape at all. It’s just the strawberry and tangerine together. I was hoping it would taste more like a version of “skittles” which is one of my faves. I have been looking for one like that have not found it yet.
When tasting e-liquids you have to remember that your taste buds are affected by several factors. And you may go through a period where your taste seems muted. That is usually only temporary but it’s good to keep in mind that we all taste things differently. If something sounds good to you it’s worth giving it a try.
The vapor produced by this 30/70 blend is really good. In fact, the whole Grand Reserve collection was created for use with sub ohm devices. They are designed to produce large amounts of vapor and they certainly do that. The amount of vapor you get is determined by the amount of VG in the juice as well as the set up you’re using it with. You may get more vapor or less vapor depending on your equipment. Some of it also depends on your draw technique as well. But the juice itself produces good vapor and I did try it on a couple of different RDAs.
What We Liked
+ Nice tangerine flavor
+ Good vapor production
+ Priced affordably
+ Not overly sweet
What We Didn’t
– Didn’t really taste the custard flavor. This may not be a deal breaker for some. And again, taste is subjective. Just because I didn’t taste it doesn’t mean you won’t.
Prices for this e-liquid fluctuate from one site to another but the general average is about $25 for a 60ml bottle. This is actually a pretty good value since I have paid the same price for other brands of juice in the same size. And at 60 ml, this bottle will last the average vaper quite a long time. I would suggest that if you try this flavor and like it, to stock up while the prices are low.
This e-liquid has a really nice flavor to it and if you like fruit and cream, this is the one for you. I don’t dislike it, it just wouldn’t be something I’d buy again because it reminds me of fruit loops which I’m not crazy about. It is not a cereal vape so I would try something from the Milkman line if that is what you’re looking for. It is a good quality juice at a good price and I would recommend it to those who like these types of flavors.
The entire Grand Reserve collection was created for vapers who like flavors that are slightly outside the norm and a little exotic. A total of 6 flavors in all, each one is crafted with the highest quality ingredients to taste delicious and satisfy your craving for nicotine. Other flavors in this collection are Meringue O’Tang, Catch Ya Latte, Pineapple Pow, Cloud Candy, and Island Frost.
